GradeProof’s user interface is similar to traditional spell checking — once you upload or type your text into the platform, it will underline mistakes and suggestions with colour-coded lines. Gavin is capable of making suggestions for rephrasing sections of your writing, as well as improving its eloquence. You can change the engine’s priority from improving your writing to increasing or decreasing the number of words, in case you’re struggling with a word count. There’s also a plagiarism checking feature that scans the web for previously published content similar to yours, although this (and the aforementioned eloquence feature) require you to upgrade to a Pro subscription, which’ll set you back between US$10–15 a month, but you can trial these features for a week to see if they’re useful.
