PSA: iOS BLUETOOTH AND WI-FI TOGGLES DON’T FULLY DISABLE THESE FEATURES
JUST TAPPING BUTTONS IN THE CONTROL CENTER WON’T DO IT ANYMORE.
The Control Center on the iPhone made its debut with iOS 7, giving users easy access to a handful of features, including switching on and off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. With iOS 11, just toggling those buttons doesn’t switch off Wi-Fi or Bluetooth completely (even if you are on Airplane Mode) — the Control Center now simply disconnects paired devices or networks, but doesn’t switch off the radio. If this is a good thing or not is perhaps debatable, but if you really want to completely switch of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, you’ll need to go back into Settings and do it the old-fashioned way.
