POCKET NEW TAB

GET TRENDING NEWS STORIES ON YOUR CHROME HOMEPAGE. Free | getpocket.com

If you’ve been using Pocket for a while and have recently updated your browser to Chrome 61, you’ll find that the Trending Stories feature of Save To Pocket aren’t appearing by default in a new tab, thanks to Google removing that functionality. So Pocket’s gone ahead and launched a brand-new New Tab plugin which replaces the default Google homepage on a new tab with trending news stories and a list of most-visited sites so you can jump into them real quick. You can customise the New Tab extension to look the way you want it to — there’s a dark and light theme, you can add or remove the Google search bar or get rid of the bookmarks bar as well. The news stories are updated through the day and, in fact, the plugin pulls in browsing history from Chrome to show most-visited sites immediately after installation. This changes, depending on your online activity after installation.
