NEWLY LAUNCHED AND available online for under $30 with a bit of looking, the Verbatim Travel Charger is great value for money. It’s USB only, with four ports that can output up to 2.4A each, or 4.8A total. It includes an Australian, USA, UK and European plug to give compatability around the world. In a move we love, the charger puts the swappable plugs on one end, and the USB ports on the other, which gives very easy access to even tight spots. It uses a lock-in clip and figure-eight-style connector, which is robust but easy to change.

In testing, the charger happily outputted 2.4A out on two ports at once, and can charge two tablets. With just a single tablet connected, the rest of the ports can still handle normal charging rates. The USB ports are also well spaced and cables plug in and out smoothly.

For a little variety, the Verbatim charger is available in grey or white and is a great buy for USB-focused travellers.
