Belkin SURGEPLUS

CHUNKY QUALITY.

-

THE MOST EXPENSIVE travel adapter in our lineup, the SURGEPLUS can be bought for under $50, delivered, on eBay, or a little more elsewhere. Larger than the competition, the adapter has two Australian sockets on it, as well as dual USB ports. Included are five plugs that cover Australia, the USA, the UK and Europe. These push fit in and out using an IEC style connector, and are easy to change yet sturdy. The adapter also includes surge protection (and has an indicator to show if it has been triggered), which is a great addition when travelling in countries with flakey power. For extra peace of mind, Belkin back the protection with a $50,000 connected equipment warranty, including data recovery.

The dual USB ports share a 2.4A output, and can happily fast charge a tablet. The adapter is around two times heavier and larger than competing models, so is better suited to business travelers than ultralight backpackers. The design does mean it’s not always easy to plug into some sockets.
