SMART SUITCASES CAN NOW ONLY TELL YOU THAT THEY GOT LEFT AT THE AIRPORT.

Smart cases allowed travellers to charge their phones, lock their suitcase remotely and track it via GPS, but they have one fatal flaw: the need for lithium ion batteries. Over the last couple of years, Li-Ion batteries have been outlawed from checked-in luggage on most Australian airlines — due to their combustion risk — and both Virgin and Qantas now have policies that specifical­ly restrict the use of smart luggage on flights.
