VSCO merges an advanced photo editing tool with a social platform. VSCO focuses on editing via an enormous range of filters and powerful array of tweakable settings, and displays the images in full rather than lo-res squares. After editing a shot, you can save the combination of filters and other settings you used as a ‘recipe’, allowing you to apply the same process to a whole batch of photos. Once you’ve signed up, you can use the service for free, albeit with the ability to purchase more filter packs, and can follow artists to fill up your feed with their work. VSCO will also offer suggested images based on what you follow and will occasionally curate collections of images and photo-journals. You can also subscribe to the premium VSCO X, offering exclusive presets as well as access to new tools and lessons, but it will set you back $28.99 a year.
