HTC Desire 650

THE HTC DESIRE 650 has a 5-inch IPS display, and features a 720p resolution — so far, so standard. If you don’t want to be locked to the Vodafone network, it’s an additional $80 on HTC’s site. We’d recommend going with the carrier to make this better value. The 650 runs Android 6.0, which is a generation behind, with a 1.6GHz octa-core Snapdragon 400 CPU and Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM, as well as a paltry 16GB of storage which can be expanded with up to a 256GB microSD card. The phone is showing its age, though the sound from the large ‘High-Res’ speakers is decent. It feels solid enough in the hand despite being all plastic and runs fairly stock Android The 13MP rear camera (5MP on the front) takes OK but not outstanding pictures. The 2,200mAh will see you through a day without particularly heavy use. One standout feature that’s disappearing from a lot of phones is an in-built FM radio. A 3.5mm headphone jack is included here, thankfully, so you can use your headphones as an aerial.
