AI INVESTIGATORS USED IN ROLLS ROYCE FRAUD CASE
ROBOT LAWYERS DOING THE LEGAL LEGWORK.
While we’re still some way off getting AI agents, a machine learning algorithm has been used by the Serious Fraud Office in the UK in a case against the engine manufacturer Rolls Royce. The algorithm was tasked with finding legal privilege documents that could not be used in court amongst the 30 million documents that the defendant turned over. It was good enough at this task to convince the head of the SFO, David Green, that the software could conceivably be used to also weed out evidence in future cases.
