Jams on Toast

LET YOUR MUSIC COLLECTION RESEMBLE VINYLS. Free | jamsontoast.com

- [ SHARMISHTA SARKAR ]

Jams On Toast is a simple, beautifully designed music player for iOS devices that caters to anyone who prefers listening to albums cover to cover. With a couple of taps, your iTunes library is imported into the app, after which you can change the organisation to your liking — just press on an album and move it anywhere within your collection. Albums in the app resemble vinyls stacked in a crate, with up to 100 albums stackable in a single crate. Album artwork is displayed as on a record sleeve, and swiping up or down will let you browse each crate. Swiping left or right will allow you to switch crates.

Even though the app can replace the native music app on Apple devices, you cannot set up playlists with selections of songs from different albums or artists. You can, however, cue up albums to play one after another, or just listen to one and the app will stop when done. The little animated record turning while music plays is a nice touch. It’s important to note that Jams On Toast can only import music that is stored locally on your iOS device. It doesn’t support Apple Music.
