DEVELOP A WORKFLOW
FOLLOW A BACK-UP ROUTINE TO KEEP YOUR DIGITAL PHOTOS SAFE.
How often do you back up your images? If you can’t remember, it’s probably time to do it again! Backing up your photos regularly is crucial: the shorter the period between backups, the fewer photos you’ll lose should the worst happen. Automatic back-up software such as Time Machine in macOS makes it easy to keep a snapshot of not just the photos you have stored on the hard drive, but your entire computer. As we’ve highlighted throughout this article, keeping everything stored in one place provides a single point of failure, so you really do need to look at multiple options. Try the 3-2-1 rule of backing up data: keep at least three copies of your photo collection, on two different formats and store one of these off-site.
