Even better, in the 14 tests since 2014, Sophos has picked up 100% of malware in the AV-Test security app comparisons. Sophos Mobile Security scans apps on install for any malicious content, and can perform on demand or scheduled scans of a device’s contents. It also has a comprehensive theft protection system, which includes remote locks, wipes, location tracking and sim change detection. The app also protects from other threats and annoyance, including web filtering and URL checks, spam call and SMS blocking and insecure Wi-Fi monitoring. It includes a built-in Authenticator service and password manager, can protect apps with a password, pin or fingerprint, and lists apps that could access personal data.

Despite all the features, Sophos Mobile Security is quite easy to get up and running for beginners, but offers loads of advanced options. Effect on battery life and performance is minimal, as it can be set to only scan when charging.
