VLC FOR ANDROID ADDS CHROMECAST SUPPORT

HERE’S HOW TO GET STREAMING.

- [ HD ]

Although the Android version of VLC — the ever-popular, workhorse of a media player — has been available for several years, it’s only now getting the ability to stream locally-stored content to Chromecast. You’ll first need to ensure you have the latest version (3.0) of VLC, so head to the Google Play Store and download it if it hasn’t already updated, or enrol in the beta if the option doesn’t appear. As long as your phone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as a compatible Chromecast device, a casting icon should show up next to the search icon in the main media-selection window.
