Search the web and send messages right from the iPhone’s iMessage app

GET GOOGLE IN THE APP DRAWER.

Google has rolled out an update to its iOS app which now sees it integrated into Apple’s native messaging platform, putting web search right into iMessage. As long as you’re using Google’s iOS app, you’ll find the shortcut in the iMessage app drawer, along with easy access to Google Maps as well. You can enable the app drawer in Messages on iOS 11 by tapping on the App Store icon to the left of the new message box, then tapping on the Google icon. This’ll enable not just web search, but shortcuts to weather, nearby restaurants, as well as trending YouTube videos and news. If you need to share any of that with anyone also using iMessage, there’s a ‘share’ option at the bottom left of each search box.
