EXPERIMENT WITH CURVES TO DISCOVER NEW CREATIVE POTENTIAL FOR YOUR SHOTS.

You can apply many special effects with Curves, including various colour styles, matte effects and creative warm-up and cool-down of tones.

One quick and effective effect you can apply to black-and-white images is pseudo solarisation. You’ll need to have converted your image to mono first. Now open a Curves Adjustment Layer. You then need to make the curve either a V or upside-down V shape. Different images work better with one or the other shape, so experiment.
