The Apple Watch is decidedly not round, which has caused this particular creator (some guy from Idaho who believes that anything is possible) some ire. Apples are round when they grow on trees, he figures, so the Apple Watch should be round to make it feel “like a traditional watch”. First things first, it’s not a traditional watch. Second, the design of this mod does not in any way mimic the look and feel of the intricately crafted Apple Watch, making it look like a cheap and nasty addition — which it is. Third, the mod face isn’t the same colour as your Apple Watch, meaning it looks as though the Watch is literally just sitting in a round metal housing — which it is — with no thought to unifying the look. Fourth, it’s bloody ugly, not even attempting to look like something normal people would want to wear with their $600 smartwatch. Fifth, it looks as though the Watch could easily fall out, or else get scratched. Lastly, the Apple Watch was never meant to be round and has sold millions of units worldwide being not round, so why the hell would you want to have something this big and cumbersome on your wrist after the countless hours the Apple designers have spent at the drawing board?! (Your humble writer has an Apple Watch and loves it the way it is, non-roundedness and all.)
