PORTION OF AUSSIES THAT THINK THEIR SMARTPHONES ARE SPYING ON THEM
Ever thought that the targeted advertisements you were seeing were a little... too targeted? Finder.com.au asked thousands of Australians and found that nearly 20% of them believed their phone to be eavesdropping on them in order to promote their services. As for demographics, it was the young Gen Z (18–23) who were the most suspicious with 37% of those surveyed convinced their handset was a spy, with Gen Y, Gen X and the Baby Boomers following with 33%, 12% and 4%, respectively.
