RESEARCHERS GIVE AI CURIOSITY

CURIOSITY KILLED THE AI.

TechLife Australia - - DISCOVER -

Machine learning systems, till now, had clearly set goals — but new research from Open AI shows that software can be given artificial curiosity, allowing it to learn new things. By rewarding the discovery of novel screenshots, algorithms were unleashed onto 50 video games with no learning parameters. This occasionally led to the software beating the game, but it also resulted in suicidal bots that died just to see the end game screen.
