MICROSOFT HAS OUTSOURCED THOUSANDS OF PATENTS TO PREVENT LINUX FROM GETTING SUED

In what seems to be the latest push in Microsoft’s developer-friendly reinvention, the company has made tens of thousands of its registered patents open source. The tech giant has joined the Open Invention Network, which is a patent group dedicated to keeping Linux safe from lawsuits, and in the process Microsoft had to make some concessions… 60,000 of them.
