AR’S FIRST FULLY RENDERED AI ASSISTANT

We were all blown away by the demonstration of Google Duplex’s phone conversation skills at the I/O developer conference earlier in the year, but while this sophisticated AI might be able to pass the turing test from the other end of a phone, it’s not much to look at. Magic Leap wants to change this with a new virtual assistant named Mika which is embodied by a to-scale humanoid animation that resides on the company’s platform. From what little we’ve seen Mika’s expressions are as frighteningly convincing as anything we heard from Duplex.
