Netgear R6020

AN AFFORDABLE WI-FI UPGRADE.

FOR THOSE WHO already have a modem, and just want faster Wi-Fi, the Netgear R6020 is worth a look. The router uses AC750 spec, and keeps costs down by not including a modem at all. It does have a WAN port though, as well as four 10/100 LAN ports on the back. The dual band Wi-Fi gives 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band, as well as 433 Mbps on the 5GHz band. It also has a combo WPS reset button, which makes connecting devices super easy, and a Wi-Fi off switch for saving power. Thanks to the two adjustable antennas, range is decent, though struggles to get excellent reception on the fringes. That said, the 5GHz band easily had enough throughput for HD media streaming in the same room.

As expected from Netgear, the interface and software on the R6020 are excellent, and you can set up guest networks and parental controls. The router also works with the excellent Nighthawk app, which makes setting up and controlling your network even easier.
