SEER

Tired of waiting for an app to launch – or, worse, having to switch to File Explorer’s Large Icons view – to see what one of your files contains? Want to look at more than just images, and get a preview of the contents of videos, text files, and a whole lot more? Seer is for you.

It’s been designed to offer a quick preview of any file, and you can view more info, too – pull up a preview of a photo, for example, and it can tell you all the hidden information in the file, like the camera that was used to take the shot.

You can also copy directly from a Seer preview, or use Seer’s control bar to (among other things) navigate through files of the same type in a folder – handy if you have a big collection of media and want to find the right one in a flash. It’s incredibly useful, and Microsoft ought to include it in a future version of Windows.
