The world’s first AI painting to go under the hammer at a Christie’s auction house sold with a bang raking in a whopping US$432,500, some 40 or so times more than the highest expectations. In the days since the story has developed further with it coming out that Obvious (the company taking home the cheque) borrowed heavily from code that was freely available on the code-sharing portal Git-Hub.
