Beats Studio3 Wireless

THE CROSS-SECTION OF APPLE AND HIP-HOP.

-

THE CURRENT APEX of the Beats line of headphones – the Studio3 Wireless – have a lot riding on them. They’re the first full-size headphones from the company to boast Apple’s celebrated W1 chip, making connectivity with Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account much easier. They’re also sporting Beat’s Pure ANC, which offers decent noise cancelling in the scheme of things (despite a few hiccups when in wind) but not quite up to the standard of either the Sony WH-1000XM3 or Bose QC 35 II. They do possess a solid battery life however, with 40 hours when ANC’s off and a little over 20 with it on. As with most of Beats’ range, the audio profile can be described as somewhat compressed and boosted in the bass and treble frequencies. This makes hip hop, modern electronic and pop music really kick, although music such as folk, classic rock, and vocalcentric performances tend to lack the sense of space found in other cans. If you’re an Apple iPhone user and love punchy music, the Studio3 are definitely decent, if somewhat overpriced.
