B&O Beoplay H4

A STYLISH, SIMPLE, SONIC STATEMENT.

-

THE CHEAPEST SET of cans from the budget Beoplay brand by Bang & Olufsen will still set you back $399, so are they premium enough to justify the price? As is to be expected, the design is on-point, with luxurious and understated styling and materials that tip-toe between tech and fashion. The H4 is half the price of the H9i but lacks their noise-cancelling, touch controls and a few other frills. If these features don’t bother you, then the core H4 experience is a solid one. The audio is excellent, balanced and clear out of the box, if not with quite as much space as the Bose or Sony flagships. The B&O app offers a very user-friendly way to alter this sound profile, with EQ settings that allow you to tweak how bright, warm, relaxed, or excited your music sounds. Although the H4 are perfect for the fashion-forward music lover, the Sony WH-1000XM3 (which can be regularly found at this price) offer a stack more in the way of value.
