The prone position is the steadiest way to shoot. Follow the same principles with regard to cradling the lens, pulling the camera into your face and rolling the pad of your index finger onto the shutter release. The added stability that comes from bracing your elbows against the ground can enable you to use relatively slow shutter speeds.
