THERE ARE MANY CHANGES IN IOS 12 THAT YOU MAY NOT BE AWARE OF, BUT THEY ARE POWERFUL IN THE RIGHT HANDS

-

Apple has not just added a few new standout features to iOS 12 and left it at that. The company has added many changes in the background that can be adjusted to your needs to make the overall experience even more suited to your needs. Indeed, there are more than 100 so we can’t cover them all. Instead we will show you some of the smaller tweaks you can undertake to get just a little more out of your iPhone or iPad.

AIR QUALITY

Scroll down in the Weather app and you can view the current air quality. The UV Index is also shown, both of which are useful for anyone with breathing problems.

DON’T STAY AWAKE

The new Bedtime option in Do Not Disturb will ensure that notifications are not shown on the lock screen if you wake up and pick up your phone.

MORE FLEXIBLE CARPLAY

Waze and Google Maps are now supported in CarPlay alongside select others, making your inbuilt car system a lot more future-proofed and flexible.

ONE SWIFT MOVEMENT

On an iPhone X you no longer need to tap the ‘x’ to close an app in the app switcher. Simply bring up the switcher and swipe up on the app you want to kill.

REACHABILITY CAN SCROLL

You can now scroll through the contents of an app in Reachability mode. This fixes a long-standing omission in iOS which will suit those who use the feature.

BETTER MARKING UP

The pen width can now be tweaked when marking up an image which makes the feature more suited to professional demonstrations when at work.
