Secret Lab Omega Softweave gaming chair

A MEDIUM-SIZED ALTERNATIVE TO THE TITAN.

- [ DAN GARDINER ]

SECRETLAB’S OMEGA CHAIR is essentially a slightly smaller version of the Titan on this page – it’s suited for people ranging 160-180cm in height and weighing 50-80kg, although it can technically support up to 110kg. Like the Titan, it’s now available in that woven, breathable SoftWeave fabric, which is vaguely denim-like in feel but a bit more fluffy. It’s priced in-between the PU and NAPA leather options and doesn’t get as steamy as either, making it arguably better for long sitting sessions.

One thing to note with both this Omega and the Titan is that the cold cure foam used as the core cushioning is very firm – when sat in, it doesn’t deform as much as most other office or gaming chairs out there, and while that means it offers a lot of support, it can take some getting used to.

In terms of features, the Omega matches most of the customisation features of the Titan, including a seat, back and armrests that can tilted, swiveled and splayed in enough different directions that anyone should be able to get a comfortable set up. One thing that is missing in the Omega is lumbar adjustment, and although Secretlab’s thrown in a velvet velour memory-foam lumbar pillow in its place, we found this a less-than-ideal supplement, as our pillow frequently fell over as soon as we rose from the chair, so we were constantly having to set it back in place.

That minor gripe aside, this is a top choice for anyone who wants a firm, premium desk chair that doesn’t get overly hot.
