AI CREATES DIGITAL CITES USING DASH CAM FOOTAGE

NVIDIA USES AI TO RENDER CITYSCAPES IN UNREAL ENGINE 4. Researchers form Nvidia showed off a project at the Montreal-based NurIPS conference in december, which uses AI to build custom game worlds from car dash cam footage. The initial training scheme was conducted over a week in multiple cities around the world using a supercomputer and Nvidia’s Tesla V100 GPUs. The supercomputer broke down the footage into roads, trees, buildings and cars surfaces, which it could then use to give detailed 3D-rendered texture to rough digital streetscapes made in Unreal Engine 4.
