Force Push
RESEARCHERS BUILD ‘THE FORCE’ IN VR. $NA | doi.org/10.3389/fict.2018.00025 Two researchers from Virginia Tech have been using hand motion tracking to develop a new system of control in VR that allows you to move objects like a Jedi. A report on the research, published in Frontiers in ITC, outlines a remote push system that slides objects based on the speed and direction of hand gestures using an oculus headset and Magic Leap trackers. You have to swipe a few times to get objects going, but you can stop them immediately by clenching your fist.
