Shooting zombies is one of those semi-regular pleasures that doesn’t generally seem to get old. They are humanesque but also soulless monsters, so utilising a vast number of weapons to explode dozens of them as they slowly lumber towards you doesn’t feel as crass as a war shooter. Which is good, because

Don Zombie is all about giving you increasingly powerful weaponry as a plague of Zombies and associated nasty creatures ramps up.

The controls are simple – one thumb for movement and the other to control direction of your shots. You can do a quick tap to shoot the nearest bad guy or aim to get headshots or target boss weaknesses. Each level gains you experience and cash to upgrade or unlock better guns, equipment, traps and explosives.

There is also an arena mode that allows you to compete with other Dons’ to see how long you can last against a never ending horde. Monetisation is fairly inoffensive and you can play as much as you want without paying a single cent (although there may be a few ads in there too).
