Too Many Cooks

-

Free

The success of Overcooked, the frantic co-op cooking game that came out on Steam before dominating the other major platforms, has, as most popular new genres do, ended up on mobile in a very similar style and objective, although with a fairly chunky initial launch.

Like Overcooked, the idea of Too Many Cooks is to work together with up to two other players to cook and serve food to a restaurant of unseen, unknown, diners. Overcooked is deliciously frantic which makes local multiplayer so much fun, and Too Many Cooks keeps up that frantic pace.

The controls are easy and the dishes are simple enough to make, but the speed and variety mixed with your need to plan ahead and multitask multiple plates of food is where the difficulty really spikes. If you liked games like Cooking Mama, then this is that with a can of Red Bull as a chaser.

The main problem with TMC is that, in its current state, Party Mode just doesn’t work. It’s constantly unable to find me both random and linked compatriots, leaving me in the Solo mode which, after a little while, just isn’t fun. TL
