-

If you’re looking to take your photography to the next level, Sony has the camera to help you get there. Whether you want to capture wildlife in amazingly still detail, or you’re looking to hit the road to find epic, once-in-a-lifetime landscape shots, the Alpha 7R Series from Sony delivers unmatched resolution and performance.

If you want to capture the world in all its glory, to find and preserve special moments, or – depending on your situation – take your existing photography to the next level, the Alpha 7R Series from Sony will help you take perfect shots. These cameras will let you take stunning photographs, whether you’re taking them out into the wild, photographing an event, or just appreciating the wide world around you. Sony’s answer to this challenge is the Alpha 7R IV and Alpha 7R III, two high-end cameras that are suitable for just about any situation or any kind of shot you’re after. Both cameras are compact and easily portable, and since both sport an interchangeable lens mount we’ve also rounded up the lenses that will expand your options and let you get some seriously incredible shots.

PICTURE PERFECTION The Alpha 7R IV is the headliner of the Alpha 7R Series thanks to its extraordinary 61MP Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS image sensor. There’s never been a camera like this one – it fits incredible image quality and amazing processing speed into a tiny body, and thanks to the BIONZ X imagine engine it captures your subjects in ultra-high resolution. You’ll be able to line up and preview your subjects with the 5.76 million dot UXGA OLED Tru-Finder, so you can make sure that your shot is perfect every time. You’re able to shoot continuously with AF/AE tracking for up to 10 frames per second – that’s extraordinary burst speed for a camera offering resolutions this high. In cases where you need to get just a little closer to the subject in the scene, switch the camera into the APS-C crop mode. This will still output an incredibly high 26.2 megapixel image, but with the benefit of a 1.5x crop, effectively turning a 400mm lens into a 600mm lens, and all that happens in-camera. Anyone shooting with this camera will be stunned by the richly textured photos they’re able to take, but you don’t need to be a huge tech-head to appreciate it - the Alpha 7R IV is built for easy use. The Alpha 7R IV is designed with both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies for improved wifi connectivity, and you can use Sony’s Bluetooth remote controller to operate the camera from afar to maximise clarity by avoiding any shaking that might occur in your hands. The camera is designed to shoot silently and cut down on blur, and features 5-axis image stabilisation. It’s perfect for portraits, nature shots, urban photography,

and even video thanks to its real-time eye autofocus and digital audio interface for crisp, clear sound. It’s ideal no matter what you want to shoot – this is a camera that can truly capture anything. It’s got a large enough battery to cover 670 shots using the LCD monitor, and weighs in at just 665g – you can take it anywhere with ease and capture some truly beautiful images with it.

A TRUE ALL-ROUNDER

The Alpha 7R III is an excellent option if you want to spend slightly less, but don’t want to sacrifice the quality offered by the Alpha 7R series – it’s similarly capable of taking stunning photos. Both cameras are capable of 14-bit RAW output, even when it’s shooting in either silent or continuous mode, which captures all the highlights and shadows in your photos perfectly and gives you a higher standard of photo to work with. The 3.69 million dot Quad-VGA OLED Tru-Finder viewfinder on the Alpha 7R III lets you zoom in and capture the fine details of distant objects and landmarks, allowing for a truly stunning degree of fidelity . The Alpha 7R III has incredible autofocus features, which is perfect for nature photography in particular - the bird you were intent on capturing won’t be a blur if it flies away as you’re shooting. The 399 phase-detection autofocus feature covers approximately 68% of the image area, and the Fast Hybrid Autofocus feature allows for autofocus that is two times faster (compared to the 7R II) in areas with dim lighting. In fact, low-light conditions are no problem at all when you’re packing the Alpha 7R III, and like the Alpha 7R IV it’s designed to be flexible – whether you’re a true professional or just want to make sure that your camping trips are documented beautifully, it’s easy to use and extremely versatile.

LENS MASTERS

Serious photographers will likely also want to invest in Sony’s G Master lenses, depending on what sort of photography they’re into. If you’re after a stunning standard zoom, the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM offers amazing shots – this lens can achieve extremely high resolution at range, capturing fine details from a distance. It weighs just 886g and makes use of a circular 9-blade aperture for amazing defocus effects on photos, and takes advantage of Nano AR Coating to eliminate flare and ghosting. The FE 16-35mm F2.8 GM, meanwhile, offers a wide-angle 16-35mm zoom with incredible performance, and is perfect for creative photographers who want to capture the world around them in high resolution. Shooting at close range with this lens will produce beautiful backgrounds, and the advanced optical design means that it sports an outstanding resolution, with low distortion and the ability to capture gorgeous bokeh. The FE 600mm F4 GM OSS is a super-telephoto lens with fast autofocus and an extremely lightweight frame, despite its enormous size – it weighs in at just over 3kg. This one’s designed with professionals in mind, offering in-depth options via outer switch toggles and sporting two extreme dynamic linear motors for incredible autofocus.

THE PERFECT MATCH

The Alpha 7R camera series and G Master lenses can capture the world around you in stunning detail, with unparalleled image quality and extraordinary autofocus features packed into a tiny frame. Whether you’re a professional, a hobbyist, or somewhere in-between, these cameras can help you take the perfect shot.
