THE FIRST LAUNCH FOR ARTEMIS 1

-

Another important launch will occur in November 2021 – part of NASA’s long-awaited Artemis 1 mission. The unmanned spacecraft, Orion, will be sent beyond the Moon and back, controlled remotely from Earth. The flyby will extend 64,000 kilometres past the Moon, further than any human has travelled before. The entire journey will take around three weeks to complete, with the Artemis 1 mission and the Orion spacecraft ending its journey somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. This will be the first of three Artemis missions to achieve the ultimate goal of placing the next man and the first woman on the Moon by 2024.
