HOW TO Install a non–listed app

FIRST STEPS After downloading the program installer from its website, open Porting Kit and choose File > New Custom Port. Type in the name of the application you’re installing to easily identify it. Click OK. An installer wizard will open.

SET WINE VERSION Click Next, skim the license agreement and click I Agree. You’ll be prompted to select an engine: choose the latest 32–bit version (WS11WineCX19.0.1-1 or later). Leave the dependencies unselected and click Next.

CHOOSE DESTINATION Click
Next again to pick destination – Applications > Games folder by default, so click Change Install Location to change it to Applications or to create a new subfolder inside Applications for Windows apps. Click Save.

SELECT APP INSTALLER
Click Install and wait while the app wrapper is created along with some required dependencies. When prompted, browse to the folder containing your downloaded program installer, select it, and click Open.

COMPLETE INSTALLATION The program’s own installer will pop up – follow this through to its end. Leave the default settings as they are. After installation you’ll be prompted to locate the program file. Once done, click Close to finish.

TEST AND CUSTOMIZE Your app will appear in the left-hand pane of the main Porting Kit window as well as in Applications. You can Ctrl-click its entry in Porting Kit and choose Properties to add your own icon and description.
