3G provided internet access from your phone anywhere that you have a valid signal. Then 4G came and was able to provide the kind of speeds people were used to on their home computers. Recently, 5G has started to roll out with companies such as Samsung including it in its premium devices. We will show you how easy it is to connect to 4G, and even then you may find that all of the work has already been done for you by your network provider. Most phones will work the moment you turn them on, but it’s always useful to know what to do should you experience connection problems. A phone without a mobile internet connection is no way near as useful as one that has been enabled to use 4G.

HOW TO Get connected instantly 1

Go to Settings on your phone and then tap the ‘Mobile Networks’ option in the ‘Connections’ section. Depending on the device, this may also be labelled ‘Network & Internet.’

2

Tap ‘Network mode’ and choose 3G or 4G. 4G may be called LTE on your device. Next, tap ‘Network operators’ then ‘Select automatically’. It will now connect to the network you need.

3

Go back to ‘Connections’ and tap on ‘Data usage.’ Here you can see how much data you have used that month. Turn ‘Data saver’ on to stop background apps using mobile data.
