New Google Chrome update for iPhone and iPad includes widgets – here’s how to use them

Fire up the Dino widget.

Google has released a new version of its Chrome browser for iPhone and iPad, which brings widgets to your home screen, alongside bug fixes and the ability to edit your username and passwords from the app.

On either an iPhone or iPad running iOS 14, hold down on the home screen for three seconds and once the icons are wiggling, select the ‘add’ icon towards the top of the screen.

There should be a Google Chrome section in the ‘add widget’ window to add one of three widgets:

• Dino Game – Immediately launches the game inside the browser.

• Search – Perform a Google Search.

• Quick Actions – Query a new topic with your voice or a QR code, or open a new tab in Incognito mode.

You can drag and drop a widget to anywhere on your home screen on your iPhone, or to a section in the column of widgets on your iPad.
