Is it safe?!

I admit, Gandalf was not in fact thinking of personal computer security when he demands the above of Frodo Baggins in The Fellowship of the Ring, but his urgency in needing to know if the One Ring is safe and secure is certainly appropriat­e to the topic.

It’s a sad fact that for every step forward in the effectiven­ess of the security tools at our disposal, the bad guys those tools are designed to protect us from make similar advances. It’s one of the reasons that we come back around to the topic with some regularity – there are a lot of threats to keep up with!

So we’re once again here to keep your passwords secret, and your important data and systems safe. With a lot of us now using personal systems while we work from home, security has never been more important.

We’re also taking a close look at alternativ­e web browsers! The mainstream ones might be okay, but sticking with the security angle, there are many more secure and private browsers you can choose from, and our guide this issues goes in depth on what each one has to offer.
