While in most parts of the world a blatant disregard for copyright can be costly – or at least frowned upon – we guess there’s really only so many potential similarities between Boston Dynamics US$74,000 Spot robot and the approximately $2,115 CyberDog from Xiaomi. It’s also not immediately clear what the purpose of the thousand units that were available for initial release is. Other than using the multitude of cameras to become a highly mobile surveillance camera that can run at a top speed of 11.5kph, the company has built an open source development platform so that engineers can customise the device to their needs.
