Design is arguably the most important element of collectable sneakers, so it makes perfect sense that the startup sneaker design studio Futures Factory decided to sell entirely digital NFT sneakers alongside its physical offerings. Futures Factory is the first company to sell ‘Virtual-only’ sneakers to consumers that want to collect them, overlay unique shoes onto video footage, or project the sneakers onto your feet using AR. The Futures team argues that the NFT distribution model will also make it easier for designers to get reimbursed for collaborative designs.
