Square Enix partners with The Sandbox to create metaverse game

The last iteration of the DungeonSiege series ( DungeonSiegeIII) wasn’t as successful as the original hugely-popular dungeon crawler, but there’s a heap of concepts in the high fantasy title that are perfect for user-generated metaverse gaming. Essentially, The Sandbox will sell land to investors that can build their own levels that players can explore after going through the initial gameplay built on Square Enix’s metaverse plot. While a lot of the details are yet to be announced the game seems to hint it’ll focus on item collection and creation.
