RACQ Fair Fuel

There are a number of state-based fuel trackers, but as I reside in QLD I thought I would focus on Fair Fuel, as it has a number of particularly interesting features. Supported by RACQ, which is Queensland’s NRMA, it uses several government and custom information metrics to get accurate daily fuel prices.

The benefit of this is that it’s not only able to quickly and accurately assess where the nearest, cheapest, service station is for your chosen fuel type, but it continually updates throughout the day when prices change.

Additionally, it also includes a feature that maps the price ‘curve’ for your area – fuel is traditionally at its cheapest on a certain day of the week and highest on another, so the app notifies you when the curve is at its lowest point where you are.
