Why SSDs are about to get more expensive

Industry analysts say the price of SSDs could rise by 10 percent this year after a huge batch of NAND flash storage was contaminated at a Japanese manufacturing plant run by Western Digital and Kioxia. They said around 6.5bn gigabytes of storage was lost in the incident. It’s not known what caused the contamination, nor whether any SSDs already being sold will need to be recalled.
