Link text boxes for overflowing words

-

One way to make a document look more interesting is to create text boxes and link them so the words flow between them. To do this in Word, click the Insert tab, then select the Text Box dropdown menu near the far right. Now choose one of the boxes, or click Draw Text Box and draw your own. Follow these steps until you have several boxes. If you choose one of the suggested boxes, you’ll need to delete the dummy words in it before linking it. Click inside your first text box, then click the Format (or Shape Format) tab and click Create Link in the Text section. Your cursor will now change to a pitcher icon. Move it to the second box and click inside – this links the two boxes. Now, when you type in the first box and reach the bottom edge, your text will carry on in the second box (see screenshot). Follow these instructions to add further boxes. In LibreOffice Writer, click the edge of a frame that you want to link and you’ll see selection handles appear at its edges. Next, on the Frame Bar, click the Link Frames icon then click the frame you want the first frame to link to.
