HOW TO Change existing placenames

1 SELECT PLACE TO EDIT

Navigate to Edit > Places where you’ll see a list of places in the right-hand pane. Those with a globe icon have been assigned geocodes, others require editing. Select the first entry that needs editing.

2 MAKE CORRECTIONS

First, you need to ensure the place has been recorded correctly in the Places database using the fields provided. If you’re only recording a town or city, click Lookup Coordinates to obtain the geocodes.

3 MERGE DUPLICATES

If you’ve recorded places inconsistently, Ctrl-click a place and choose “Find duplicate Places”. Select your duplicate(s) and click Merge, then click Use Left or Use Right to select which one to use going forward.
