Lavender

Often called the ‘allrounder’, lavender is THE essential oil you should own! Used to treat migraine and tension headaches, it has a mild sedative effect which can help ease the stress causing the headache. As it is mild it can be applied directly to the skin – put one or two drops on the temples or the back of the neck for headaches or just to help calm you. Sore muscles can also be eased by the analgesic and anti-inflammato­ry properties of lavender oil. Mix a few drops with olive or jojoba oil and massage into the area. Lavender is also a good sleep aid – put a few drops in a bath before bed or in an oil diffuser in your room at night.
