DID YOU KNOW?
Kumato, also known as
black tomato, originated in Europe and was introduced to Australia in 2005. Developed through the natural crossing of wild and domestic tomatoes, the kumato is uniquely coloured and changes from bright green to its ideal dark brown colour when ripe. Available in a range of sizes all year round,
with a sweeter and stronger
aroma than regular tomatoes,
it’s delicious eaten at all colour stages. Once
ripe, store in the fridge for up to two
days. Bring them to room temperature before
serving.
