Affair unwrapped
Early Christmas morning in 2012, Lucy Turner, 26, crept out to the car to collect the presents her fiancé Alan had hidden there the night before.
Their son Riley was two and Lucy couldn’t wait to see his face when he saw what they’d bought him.
But then Lucy spotted a mobile phone she didn’t recognise.
Scrolling through the contents, Lucy found x-rated text messages and photos of Alan with another woman.
‘My whole body went hot and I was shaking with shock and anger,’ Lucy told the Mirror.
Alan denied everything, even getting angry at Lucy’s accusations.
When Riley woke up, Lucy vowed not to ruin Christmas for him, even handing Alan the gifts she’d saved up for months to buy.
But after she’d served up his turkey dinner, Alan admitted he wasn’t in love with her anymore.
The next day he walked out on their five-year relationship – just two months before their wedding.
‘I love Christmas, it’s a magical time of year,’ Lucy says. ‘But it will never be the same for me.’
