Dear that’s life!

For some years now I have celebrated Christmas Day with a few close friends who, like me, no longer have family nearby. However, this year they have volunteered to help at a charity lunch f or the homeless. I know it’s a great cause and I don’t want to seem selfish but I’m really disappointed and sad that our special time together won’t happen. What would you do? – Eve*
