That STINKS!
In 1999, philosophy student Teunis Tenbrook was banned from classes at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, in the Netherlands. His crime?
Chronic foot odour! Administrators from the university claimed that Teunis’ smelly feet were so bad that professors and students were finding it impossible to concentrate with him in the room.
Determined to complete his education, Teunis launched a legal battle that
would span
10 years.
Finally, in 2009, a judge ruled that the university’s doors should be opened to Teunis – whiffy feet and all.
‘The professors and other students will just have to hold their noses and bear it,’ the judge declared.
